Sharing the Fire - North East Story Telling Conference

  • The Queensbury Hotel 88 Ridge St Glens Falls, NY, 12801 United States (map)

A whole weekend of stories, workshops, performances, for people of all ages.

There is a virtual track, a professional track, and a family track. See theNorth East Story Telling (NEST) website for details: www.nestorytelling.org/sharing-the-fire-2025-overview-schedule/

If you want to learn how to tell stories, there are workshops for that; if you want to see amazing storytellers working their craft, there are presentations for that; if you want to give voice to your ancestors, you can; if you want to rhyme your stories, there is someone to teach you that; if you are a teacher in the trenches and need support, they have that covered, too. There will be quiet spaces for reflection and journaling, outdoor spaces for getting fresh air and many people ot meet and talk to.

I will be presenting a workshop on sound systems, PA systems and the like, and how to best use them. You will discover what you might need and what you don’t! And I will be talking about microphone best practices and all that. That’s on Saturday at 1.45 pm until 3.15pm.

I will be one of eight performers presenting in the Olio (read: showcase), along with The Artist Anubis, Sarah Brady, Sara deBeer, Bruce Marcus (the rhyming fellow), Jennifer Munro (who is quite brilliant), Lani Peterson and Valerie Tutson (also quite brilliant), all MCed by my good friend Jo Radner. I know some of these folks and know of others. This should be a great performance.

I will also be doing a workshop on microphone technique and stage presence as part of the family track on Sunday afternoon at 12.30 pm before the Family Track show.

Some event require seperate tickets.
